Housing Prices are on the rise in San Diego and many homeowners are adding valuable space to their existing homes.
San Diego home values have risen 10.9% in the past year in San Diego and the average home value in San Diego County is up to $502,000. Places like Zillow and Redfin predict housing prices will again rise at least another 6.3% in the next 12 months.
What does that mean for homeowners? Well, firstly, your home is worth more than it was in 2009 for sure! Secondly, if you’ve been waiting for this day for a while it’s a great time to think about adding space to your existing home to increase its value even more!
The average cost per square foot of a San Diego home is $363/sq.ft. New construction building costs vary from as low as $200/sq.ft. – to as high as $350/sq.ft. Even at the highest price for new construction it’s still a GREAT deal if you are considering listing your home on the rising market- for completely brand new beautiful space!
