Kitchen expansion in Pacific Beach

The Edelsons had lived in Pacific Beach for years but employment opportunities took them away from California. They retained the beach house as a rental and when it was time to retire, Pacific Beach beckoned once again.

The Edelsons contracted Ritz Design Build to add a complete second story to transform their beach house into their dream retirement home. Downstairs, the original galley kitchen seemed small and dated. So the Edelsons asked Ritz Design Build to create a new kitchen. We redid the small kitchen with new hand-finished custom cherry cabinets and granite countertops. It is beautiful and functional—the perfect testament that small can be efficient.

The Edleson kitchen expansion was only part of a larger remodel project, including a second story addition, master suite addition, master bath addition, and a living room remodel.
