Alpine Home Remodeling

Living in a rural community such as Alpine certainly has its appeal. You’re located far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, often surrounded by the splendor of nature. Of course, some home remodeling contractors won’t work in such a secluded community. You can count on Ritz Home Design to work with you with outstanding customer service, bringing almost 50 years of design build experience.

Keeping your home safe in fire areas

When we take on projects in remote wilderness areas, we like to remind our customers a few steps they can take to keep their homes safer in case of fire.

  • Attached garages are good: Many fires start the result of flammable materials. Or should a garage go up in flames, having a small distance between your garage and home can protect the home.
  • Double duty: Typically, double-pane windows hold up better in a fire than a single pane.
  • On the roof: Be sure to use fire resistant materials such as standing seam, tile, slate or composite roofing instead of wood shingle.
  • Watch the walls: Again, avoid wood siding if you can. Your friends are non-flammable materials such as fiber-cement siding, Cultured Stone, brick, or stucco.
  • Keep it clear: Clear back dead or dry vegetation around your home, garage, shed or any other structure.

Transform your Alpine home into a mountain masterpiece

It’s hard to believe that the rugged mountain town of Alpine is just 30 minutes away from downtown San Diego. Miles away yet a lifetime apart, Alpine offers a country retreat from the urban atmosphere that lies right outside its borders. Encompassing the areas of Descanso, Guatay, Pine Valley, Lake Moreno & Campo, Alpine is an outdoor lover’s dream come true. Camping, fishing, hiking and rock climbing aren’t just for the tourists as Alpine’s residents make these pastimes an everyday part of their lives. The same goes for all types of snow fun. That’s right; it actually snows in the Alpine area each winter and some springs, encouraging families to drive up from all regions of San Diego to enjoy sledding and the occasional epic snowball fight. As you might expect, homes in Alpine feature the charm of logwood cabins or rustic farms. But not everything in Alpine is quaint and old fashioned. Recently the Alpine Beer Company opened its doors to great fanfare and plenty of thirsty customers. (Locals will tell you the Nelson and Pure Hoppiness microbrews are top notch.) But if you’re in the mood for something more authentic, head on over to Janet’s Montana Café. When you arrive you’ll be greeted by a large moose head that hangs over the bakery. And it’s at the bakery where you’ll discover the most delicious, mouth-watering pies you’ve ever tasted. But pies aside, life in Alpine is pretty sweet. And with a little imagination, you can enjoy the best elements of mountain and city living.

The best home renovation decision you’ll ever make.
